ICIC & IDUAI 2026 GLOBAL CONFERENCE
 
The 17th edition of the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC 2026) and UNESCO Global Conference to commemorate IDUAI 2026 will be held in Freetown, Sierra Leone from September 28th, 29th and 30th, 2026.
The two-in-one landmark event, which will be jointly hosted by Sierra Leone and its Right to Access Information Commission (RAIC) and UNESCO, focuses on the theme: “Upholding Information Integrity in the Digital Age: The role of access to Information in addressing Information Disorder”.

Welcome to Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone welcomes you to the 2026 ICIC-IDUAI joint Conference. Sierra Leone is situated in the West of  Africa, bordered by Guinea, Liberia, and the Atlantic Ocean. Sierra Leone is famous for its diamonds, but also rich in Gold, bauxite and other earth minerals. Freetown is the capital & Largest city. The country is known for its historic landmarks, wildlife, and rich culture.

The country has some of Africa’s most stunning beaches, famous for its white sand and clear blue water. Popular beaches like Lumley is known for their great ocean views and restaurants.

It has rich traditions in music, dance, and storytelling. Traditional societies like Sande, Bondo and Poro play a major role in cultural life. These societies guide initiation rites, education, and moral teaching in their communities. 

Sierra Leone is a great tourist destination, friendly people, rich culture, and has a growing eco-tourism. The official language is English; other languages include Krio, Temne, Mende, and others...
