ICIC-IDUAI 2026 Host Shares Important Updates

....

Following recent development relating to final preparations to host the ICIC-IDUAI Conference 2026 in Sierra Leone from 28th to 30th September , the Conference Host shares the following updates for the attention of delegates:

  • The updated conference programme is available on the conference website: https://icic-iduai2026.com/index.php/programme/tentative-programme. As you can see, we now have almost a full list of confirmed speakers for all the panels. It is shaping up to be a very exciting conference with many interesting panels and expert speakers.
  • We confirm that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure delegates who booked hotels in Freetown will be transported to the conference venue in Lungi via vehicle shuttles and ferry, all covered by the conference host. We also confirm that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure delegates who booked hotels in Lungi following the venue change, will be transported to the conference venue via shuttles provided by the conference host.
  • Although the early bird registration deadline expired on September 15, 2026, the online registration portal on the conference website remains open for delegates who still need to register to help with the conference planning.
  • We also wish to confirm that all arrangements have been put in place for translation services in English, French, and Spanish. More information regarding the livestreaming of the plenary panels and one of the five parallel sessions on each of the first two days of the conference will be provided by Wednesday this week.
  • The deadline for receiving requests for gratis visas on landing at the Freetown international airport is close of business (SL time) Tuesday 22nd September, 2026.
  • The deadline for delegates to send information about which hotels they have booked—to facilitate free shuttle pick ups from their hotels to the conference venue during the conference, from the airport to their hotels for those staying in Lungi, and from the water taxi or ferry terminals in Freetown to their hotels for those staying in Freetown—is close of business on Wednesday, September 23rd.
  • As you can see on the updated conference programme, two side events organised simultaneously by the NGO-CSO ATI coalition and the UNESCO West Africa Regional Office in Dakar, Senegal, are scheduled for the final day of the conference, September 30th. These events will take place at the same time as the ICIC Closed Administrative Annual General Meeting, which is for ICIC members only.

Finally, we will provide more updates on other conference planning aspects, including visits to excursion sites in the coming days.
